Since launching the First-Time Home Buyers’ Assistance Program in 2021, almost 30 Crozier employees have received the benefit to achieve their home ownership dreams.

One of our recent recipients is Nicolas Corsetti, a talented Engineering Intern on the land development team. He joined Crozier in 2020 after completing his Bachelor of Engineering degree at Lakehead University.

“It was a match made in heaven!” says Nicolas. “I always had an interest in municipal infrastructure design and Crozier has a reputation as an up-and-coming company which is intriguing for young professionals like me.”

Earlier this year, Nicolas and his fiancée began the search for their new home. Nicolas had discussions with various colleagues who shared their experiences with the unique benefit and then he submitted his own application to Crozier’s president, Nick Mocan.

The couple had their minds set on purchasing a property in a central location between their offices to maintain a reasonable commute. The First-Time Home Buyers’ Assistance Program helped them make this goal a reality. Nicolas shared how the down payment was a significant barrier to home ownership and that they lost almost 10 places to bidding wars. Ultimately, the extra funds provided a bit more buying power to secure their new home.

The pair moved into their home in New Tecumseth last month after completing renovations to make the space their own.

Between becoming a homeowner, planning a wedding, and pursuing his professional engineering designation, it is a busy phase of life for Nicolas but having the additional funds from Crozier has made this time easier.

“The program is fantastic. It’s very challenging for young employees to get into the housing market and this unique benefit is a huge help.” Nicolas explained. “It was clear that Nick and others involved in the process really care.”

Nicolas reflected on his experience at the company and shared that, “The people at Crozier are a creative bunch. You have the chance to grow within your team and show what you can bring to the table. I’m surrounded by people who want to do better and seek out areas for improvement. It’s a fun environment to be a part of.”
