Although a Big Yellow Sun for the Big Red Run would have been nice….not much could dampen the enthusiasm last Sunday for the United Way Milton’s annual run! Close to 300 showed up, warmed up, and spread out in a bright red wave of energy to take on the 5 K and 10 K Fun Run, 5 K Trail Walk and new Kids Fun Mudder and Obstacle Course.
With BBQ’s fired up for the hungry return of racers and everyone laced-up, Mayor Gord Krantz welcomed event sponsors, volunteers and Milton’s families, friends, and businesses to the Mohawk Inn and Conference Centre’s starting gate – sending them on their way with a thumbs-up through the scenic pathways along the KOA Campground.
The Crozier & Associates crew made the morning call with kids and spouses and were happy to donate water bottles to the race kits – a little hydrating high-five, if you will – in support of the popular fund raising event for local programs.
With feet pounding, kids laughing and tweets flying….the Sunday outing was a bright spot in everyone’s day, raising $12,600 to add to the good works of United Way Milton around the community. Congratulations to all!Print This Post | Back to Our Communities
