Crozier Laces Up to Help End Youth Homelessness in Durham Region with Hockey Helps the Homeless

A team of Crozier colleagues, clients, and friends took to the ice last week to raise funds to help end youth homelessness in the Durham Region last week. Hockey Helps the Homeless hosts charitable hockey tournaments across Canada to raise awareness and financial support for the homeless through education, fundraising, and partnering with solutions-based local homeless support agencies.

The Durham Region tournament was held at the Delpark Homes Centre last Friday, December 1st.  Crozier was a proud Team Sponsor of the event raising over $10,000 to help support Durham Youth Services. Team Captain Travis Gibson led the Crozier team on and off the ice. Alongside Stanley Cup champion Ric Jackman, they played teams from Oshawa Generals alumni, Durham College, and the Rotary Club of Whitby Sunrise. After the tournament concluded, players and guests gathered for lunch and inspiring speeches, capping off a fun day that altogether raised almost $50,000 to help prevent and provide support programs for youth experiencing homelessness in Durham Region.

Good times and great hockey in support of an incredible organization.

We can’t wait to lace up next year!
