As the golfing world descends on the Greater Toronto area this week at the 2024 RBC Canadian Open, there was exciting news for Canadian golf last week. Golf Canada announced that the 2025 RBC Canadian Open will be held at TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley in the Town of Caledon.
The announcement comes as the bold, exciting transformation of Osprey Valley continues after Golf Canada shared that the national organization would be relocating its headquarters to the 54-hole golf club in Caledon, Ontario. In an official press release, Osprey Valley’s president, Chris Humeniuk, stated:
“This is a momentous occasion for Osprey Valley and represents a major step in our ongoing transformation as a facility, along with the culmination of many years of hard work, planning and preparation by our team.”
The redevelopment of the 305-hectare property includes the renovation of the championship North course, two new clubhouses, conference facilities and on-site overnight accommodations.
Over the past five years, Crozier has delivered a full suite of engineering and environmental solutions for the project and continues to work with Osprey’s leadership group as the clubhouses and villas are constructed along with the final preparations of the site to host the 2025 RBC Canadian Open.
“It has been an honour and a privilege to work with Golf Canada and Osprey Valley on the redevelopment of their best-in-class facilities,” said Nick Mocan, Crozier’s president. “This is a legacy project that we are incredibly proud of and Crozier’s role would not be possible without the tactical leadership of Katherine Rentsch, our Private Services manager, and the entire dedicated group of professionals here.”
Congratulations to the Humeniuk family and the entire project team, notably Glen Schnarr & Associates Inc., Borden Ladner Gervais LLP, and X-Design Inc. for bringing the RBC Canadian Open to this incredible venue – 2025 will be a year to remember, as both Golf Canada and the RBC Canadian Open find their new home.
