As our team gathered for a pre-game cheer on opening day, the balls were already bouncing and skipping down the lanes, launched with abandon by pint-sized bowlers. It reminded us just why “Bowl for Kids’ Sake” counts so much. Money raised in this annual event funds more times like this – when at-risk kids in our community can just be kids – having fun, growing in confidence, and learning to reach for all the possibilities that lay ahead of them.
Whether it’s sharing activities, helping with in-school or after-school programs, or just time to talk, the mentoring provided by the volunteers of BBBSGT has been making a difference in the lives of children and young adults in Collingwood, Wasaga Beach, Clearview Township, Town of the Blue Mountains and Meaford since 1969.
The annual “Bowl for Kids Sake” fund raiser, sponsored this year by Crozier & Associates, ran from February 20th to March 27th and raised $100,000 (and counting) with the help of over 900 in the community who showed up with pledges from family, friends, neighbours and co-workers to show they cared. Every ball rolled, every dollar raised, every laugh shared, counted so much….thank you.
