When considering the retirement of our beloved “red field truck” after ten years of Crozier service earlier this year, we were looking for a way that the vehicle could still be serviceable, besides the well-worn road to the local auto wrecker’s yard. We found the perfect place for “big red” in the Shop and Mechanics class at Collingwood Collegiate Institute.
Recently, we were invited to stop by CCI’s Shop class to see the students hard at work, taking the stubborn tires off, and “rockin’ out” to the radio which they managed to get working! Shop teacher, Sven Hafner, reports that the students will be removing the engine to begin the 2017 fall semester.
We’re hoping for more “big red” updates as CCI students roll up their sleeves again in the fall!!
