Crozier is proud to recognize Andrew Luth, a Mechanical Engineering student at McMaster University, as the latest recipient of the firm’s annual C.F. Crozier & Associates Inc. Bursary. The bursary provides financial support to eligible students enrolled in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical & Computer Engineering programs at McMaster.

Rooted in Crozier’s commitment to supporting the next generation of engineering talent, the bursary is awarded to a student who demonstrates academic achievement and a passion for the profession. Andrew exemplifies this spirit through both his academic pursuits and his hands-on experience.

Growing up on a farm and spending summers working in construction, Andrew developed a natural curiosity for how things work—from pouring footings to installing beams, to understanding the inner mechanics of farm equipment. This curiosity ultimately led him to choose mechanical engineering at McMaster, where he’s especially interested in the design and mechanics side of the discipline.

“Learning how different parts work together to accomplish something has always fascinated me,” said Andrew. “Engineering gives me the opportunity to take what I’ve learned in school and apply it to solve real-world problems.”

Currently on a 16-month co-op with Lambton Conveyor, a grain handling and storage system manufacturer in Wallaceburg, Andrew is gaining valuable industry experience while continuing to explore his interest in agricultural machinery design. Outside the classroom, he enjoys participating in McMaster’s intramural sports and plays for a 22U baseball team in his hometown of Chatham.

Reflecting on receiving the award, Andrew expressed that this achievement has been a meaningful milestone.

“Not only has it helped ease the financial pressure of student loans,” he shared, “but it gave me the incredible opportunity to meet and connect with Chris Crozier over lunch. Learning about Crozier’s work in structural engineering and hearing his perspective on the industry was truly inspiring.”

Crozier is proud to support students like Andrew as they take the next steps in their academic and professional journeys. We wish him continued success as he explores his future in engineering.
