Members of our Milton team were thumbs up and shovels down this past Saturday at the City of Mississauga’s annual tree planting in celebration of Earth Days. Although there are 2.1 million trees on both public and private lands in the City, when it comes to these air-cleaning, water-filtering, flood-controlling, temperature-regulating, wildlife-sheltering, soul-calming wonders – you can never have too much of a good thing!
That’s why Mississauga has targeted an almost 50% increase in their tree population by 2032 with the launch of its “One Million Trees Mississauga” initiative.
Partnering with Credit Valley Conservation, Ecosource, Evergreen, and the Association for Canadian Educational Resources, the City has put out the call to tree-lovers across the municipality to dig in and be counted on their website.
With the tree-total already topping 202,000 – clearly everyone’s keen for more green in their future!
