Jesse Matchett joined Crozier & Associates in 2008 as an intern, returning as a full time Graduate EIT in 2010. For the past several years, Jesse has been a strong leader in the Civil & Structural departments, and is currently the team leader for the Building Science group. He achieved his Professional Engineering designation in 2014, his Reserve Planning designation in 2016, and has now recently achieved his Building Science Specialist Ontario designation in 2018.
At Crozier, Jesse provides structural and building science engineering expertise; overseeing retrofit projects for remedial roofing and cladding assemblies, building condition assessments, performance audits, reserve fund studies, and civil related works including internal site infrastructure and drainage issues for multiple property management clients across Ontario. Jesse’s work involves a strong working knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, strong communication skills and relationships with Clients, Contractors and local Building Departments, bringing a strong voice for Crozier to the community.
One of Jesse’s career highlights was attaining Municipal approval for several unique residential ‘earthship’ projects, comprised of recycled earth-rammed tires and framing materials, passive heating and cooling & air tube ventilation, grey water recovery, and off-grid electricity. One of the Earthships is located in Collingwood and truly is a one-of-a-kind home and an extensive achievement for the community.
