When we heard about the compelling impact that Basketeers had in the Collingwood community last year, we were eager to participate again.
Basketeers is a non-profit organization which assists women in new beginnings. Often, children in shelters are sponsored at Christmas, but their mothers are forgotten about. Basketeers provide simple necessities in a basket which are then gifted to women to help them find strength as they embark on the next chapter of their lives.
Since 2000, Basketeers has supported women’s shelters across Canada; donating $3.8 Million dollars worth of goods! In 2018, Collingwood and area joined the Basketeers movement, and successfully collected 80 baskets from the community! In honour of National Philanthropy Day, our Collingwood team is assembling baskets that will be donated to My Friends House and The Women’s Centre Grey & Bruce.
We are proud to be part of Basketeers 20 years of giving!
