As the Christmas season is upon us, it’s always a lovely gesture to give back to the community. This past week, our Collingwood office gathered together to give back to mothers in our community who need support.
Basketeers is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2000, with the philosophy of supporting and giving back to women who have left abusive relationships. They provide simple items and necessities which are gathered in a basket, and are gifted to women as they start a new chapter in their life. Often times, there are shelters who find it fairly easy to find sponsors for children at Christmas, but their mothers seem to be forgotten. Basketeers supports mothers, with the hopes that they will find the strength to create a new life for themselves and their children.
When our office learned about this incredible charity and group of volunteers, we decided to join the movement! Our wonderful team in Collingwood managed to put together six baskets, which were donated to the Collingwood Chapter this past weekend. Our goal is to make this an annual event.
