Monthill Golf & Country Clubhouse

Crozier partnered with Hicks Design Studio and club owners to complete the luxurious design for Monthill Golf & Country Clubhouse in Caledonia. This premier clubhouse has all the amenities fit for a PGA tour. Facilitating the water resources, civil servicing, structural design, and mechanical and electrical engineering design, this state-of-the-art, 55,000 sq. ft. clubhouse includes:

  • Two terraces and four banquet halls
  • Indoor gas golf cart storage
  • Golf simulators and Pro-shop
  • Lounge, dining, and Founder’s Club
  • A kitchen designed by a top Canadian chef
  • Large chandeliers and chimneys reaching up to 50 ft tall adorn the interior of the clubhouse

Coordination between the electrical, structural, and mechanical design teams ensured that the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), water, wastewater, and electrical conduits and structural steel did not conflict. Communication between design disciplines was necessary in order to fulfill smooth lines for the walls and ceilings that the architect had envisioned. The mechanical ducts, electrical conduits and structural columns were strategically placed to meet the design criteria for the Clubhouse. Precast concrete slabs were specified as the main floor flooring to meet the challenges of long spans and low headroom requirements. Crozier designed the engineered steel trusses and three tiers of flat roofing to attenuate sound in the grand ballroom.

Crozier’s electrical design for the Clubhouse enables it to remain open during a power outage; the back-up generator was designed and specified so that all building services would have sufficient power to remain operational.  The civil design contains an on-site wastewater treatment system and a water purification system to integrate into municipal servicing.
