Katherine Rentsch accepts the Mid-Career Award from the University of Guelph’s School of Engineering
Each year, the University of Guelph’s School of Engineering selects key alumni to honour at the annual awards celebration.
We are pleased to share that Katherine Rentsch, P.Eng., Crozier’s Manager, Private Services, returned to her alma mater on March 6th to accept the Mid-Career Award. This award recognizes a School of Engineering graduate from 10 to 25 years prior for their esteemed reputation in the engineering profession and community, noteworthy professional accomplishments, and future promise.
With over 20 years of experience in consulting engineering, Katherine has a wealth of knowledge that she shares with her peers in the industry. Since 2005, Katherine has provided workshops and courses specializing in onsite sewage systems to the members of the Ontario onsite wastewater industry through the Ontario Rural Wastewater Centre at the University of Guelph, where she was the project coordinator for a decade.
As a member of the Ontario Building Code Commission and the Building Materials Evaluation Commission, Katherine offers her expertise to hear building permit appeals and evaluate innovative technologies. She is also Vice President of the Ontario Onsite Wastewater Association, where she champions private and decentralized servicing options.
“It is truly an honour to receive this award,” said Katherine. “I spent more than just my undergraduate years at the University of Guelph. Teaching was such a privilege, and it brings me so much joy to be able to transfer those skills into my day-to-day work at Crozier.”
Katherine plays a key role within the Crozier team, overseeing the technical review and quality control of all onsite sewage and private servicing projects at the firm. She is a valued leader within the industry and continues to mentor and advocate for women in STEM.
We applaud Katherine’s dedication to her field and are thrilled that she received this recognition for her ongoing efforts. We have no doubt that her contributions will continue to make a significant impact in the years to come and are proud to have such an inspiring leader on our team.
