At C.F. Crozier & Associates Inc. (Crozier) we are creating a new department of GIS specialists that seek to create state-of-the-art applications of GIS and apply these applications to our current and future business opportunities.

We are seeking a GIS Manager to coordinate all of our current GIS applications, create GIS specific technical roles and assign responsibilities to staff (current or new). As the GIS Manager, you will promote GIS within our company and help develop a 3-year strategic plan.



As the GIS Manager you will administer and manage the Geographic Information Systems in our firm. You will administrate the projects involving our different offices and departments and supervise staff. You will grow and align the department with the company culture and strategic plan.

Management of Department

  • Supervise and oversee the effective functioning of GIS personnel, evaluating performance of employees, recruiting and training staff.
  • Promote the use of GIS technologies within our current business activities to improve the accessibility to data and creation of deliverables.
  • Forecast and evaluate department activity and develop efficient procedures.
  • Set and manage project related budgets for timely delivery and costing, and manage department budgets for staffing, equipment expenses, and revenue targets.

Develop our System

The GIS department is a new department at Crozier and therefore you will be responsible to develop data management standards, layering control and structure for all spatial data and coordinate with various departments to integrate digital data into current platforms.

  • Develop database schemes, tools, templates, and coordinate with various departments to efficiently integrate digital data across GIS and other software. Design and maintain controls for geodetic data and utilize such data to determine efficient quality control standards and provide subject matter expertise on the same.
  • Work with company departments (IT, CAD, Project Control, marketing etc.) to blend the GIS structure into the existing organizational framework.
  • Maintain and operate all GIS related products, help in project planning, and manage all components of system database and design. Operate and maintain GIS system hardware, software, and peripherals.

Project Delivery

We are currently delivering projects using several GIS applications. We require the successful candidate to monitor project progression and develop methods to enhance project delivery through better use and training. Overall, the successful candidate will integrate GIS into Crozier and increase the utilization of GIS.

  • Coordinate with different departments and make sure that all the stages of applicable projects are enhanced using GIS. This effort may include business services, marketing, land development services, etc.
  • Analyze work of all projects and recommend solutions to resolve issues encountered in projects. Settle all the technical matters that may arise.
  • This effort may include terrain modelling, wetland features, flood zone delineations, and other existing exclusion areas with associated construction limitations and setback requirements (such as transmission lines, wetlands, public roadways, pipelines, etc.).
  • Create maps and graphs, using GIS software and data collection equipment to compile geographic and demographic data from multiple sources.


As an outward focused department, we are seeking a Manager that exports state-of-the-art solutions to our internal users who may not be familiar with the capabilities of GIS. The GIS group will be successful when our departments and offices are exposed to leading edge solutions and find ways to incorporate GIS into our business.

  • Instruct internal and external users on data management accessing spatial data via mobile and desktop applications.
  • Aid the growth of geospatial knowledge and lead presentations, when required. 



  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography, and preferably a certificate in GIS systems, IT or equivalent training.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive work experience in GIS systems, ideally in a consulting environment.
  • Experience in ArcGIS software including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Online.
  • Experience in AutoCAD, PVSyst or other software platforms would be an asset.
  • A solid understanding and background in designing and maintaining relational databases.
  • A good knowledge of common scripting languages and SQL.
  • Experience in application development for mobile data collection and web-maps.
  • Skilled in spatial database design (ArcSDE).
  • Proficient knowledge of the full suite of Microsoft Office software; including a high proficiency in Excel and MS Access.
  • Experience and comfortable working in a fast-moving dynamic environment.
  • Competency in analytical problem solving, strong communication, customer/partner relationships, and technology expertise preferred.
