Guelph Environmental Engineering Student Awarded Annual Crozier Scholarship

In 2022, Crozier established an annual $5,000 scholarship, the University of Guelph C.F. Crozier & Associates Inc. Scholarship, to recognize outstanding engineering students each year.

We are pleased to share that this year’s recipient is Connor Maxwell, a fifth year Environmental Engineering co-op student, whose passion for helping the environment stems from his childhood.

“I was fortunate enough to grow up on a tributary of the Saugeen River where I learned to fly fish, swim and found my love of the outdoors,” said Connor. “Growing up there led me to become very interested in a career protecting our natural resources and upon doing research I found engineering.”

Connor has a natural curiosity for tackling complex problems and searching for unique solutions that will make a positive impact on the community and the environment. His interest in the engineering profession and excitement for his future contributions to the industry have only grown over the course of his studies.

“Receiving this scholarship means a tremendous amount to me. The scholarship went directly to financing my education, taking some of the stress away from paying for school,” said Connor. “It was also exciting to connect with some of the leadership team at Crozier, like Nick and Jurgen who were in my shoes not too many years ago, about their experiences at the University of Guelph and their careers.”

Connor stays involved in the Gryphon community by participating in intramurals and volunteering at various recruitment events for the School of Engineering. In his spare time, Connor volunteers with Trout Unlimited Canada, a charitable organization committed to conserving Canada’s freshwater.

Crozier is committed to promoting student development and offers various scholarships including a $25,000 McMaster University fund for the C.F. Crozier & Associates Inc. Bursary and The Crozier Way Scholarship which is awarded to one of our excellent co-op students each year.
