Guelph, ON, February 8, 2022
 – C.F. Crozier & Associates Inc. (Crozier), a leading consulting engineering firm in the land development and building industry, is pleased to announce a $25,000 commitment over five years to the University of Guelph C.F. Crozier & Associates Inc. Scholarship fund. Engineering student, Yusra Hasan, has been named the scholarship’s first recipient.

“Crozier is committed to supporting and developing growth among engineering students and alumni through scholarship, mentorship and employment opportunities,” said Nick Mocan, President, Crozier. “We look forward to continuing our long-standing relationship with the University of Guelph, fostering talent and building careers from the ground up.”

The University of Guelph C.F. Crozier & Associates Inc. Scholarship is awarded to one distinguished student each year enrolled in the Bachelor of Engineering program. Hasan was selected for her outstanding academic achievement and drive. She was inspired by her entrepreneurial family in the construction business to pursue an education in environmental engineering and to contribute these skills to bettering society.

“This generous award – among the most valuable available to our undergraduate engineering students – offers significant financial relief at a time when the pandemic has negatively impacted students’ finances, job opportunities, and more,” said Richard Zytner, Interim Dean, College of Engineering and Physical Sciences. “The C.F. Crozier & Associates Inc. Scholarship is empowering the next generation of Guelph Engineers like Yusra Hasan, allowing them to achieve their true potential throughout their time at the School of Engineering.”

Many graduates from the University of Guelph have built careers at Crozier, including the company’s president, Nick Mocan, who arrived as a student from the university over 15 years ago. Graduating from the same program, Amanda Pinto, a Land Development Engineering Intern at Crozier, has recently been named this year’s University of Guelph Young Alumnus/a Award recipient for her outstanding leadership in the engineering community. Since joining the Crozier team in 2018, Amanda has assisted with a variety of impactful and complex projects including sustainable stormwater management research and design. She also serves as the Chair of the Professional Engineers Ontario Grand River Chapter 30 x 30 Committee to help promote the number of licensed women in the engineering field.

Crozier offers various scholarships and mentorship initiatives that foster student and employee development including a $25,000 McMaster University fund for the C.F. Crozier & Associates Inc. Bursary and The Crozier Way Scholarship which will be awarded this year to exceptional students who complete their co-op placements at Crozier and exemplify the company’s core values – be entrepreneurial, bring your energy, show you care.
