Silver Glen Preserve

Originally deemed non-developable due to environmental and floodplain constraints, this 28 acre site in Collingwood’s west end was passed over for many years by numerous developers. Crozier & Associates collaborated with planning and environmental partners to re-evaluate the property at our client’s request.

After undertaking a hydro-technical analysis, we concluded that the flood susceptibility of the property could be completely mitigated. As a result, our client secured the property and proceeded with a rezoning application to permit a residential condominium subdivision. Crozier & Associates worked diligently with the consulting team to secure the rezoning and Site Plan Approval for Silver Glen Preserve, a common element condominium development consisting of 174 residential units.

Silver Glen Preserve stormwater wetland, Collingwood [1]As part of the servicing for the first phase, it was necessary to construct a substantial amount of external works including but not limited to a sewage pump station with almost 900 metres of twin forcemains and twin pre-cast concrete culverts with 6.0 m wide spans.

Also included in the site servicing design completed by our office was a stormwater wetland with increased filtration which has become a signature feature of the development and intersection improvements to facilitate access to the subdivision from Highway 26.
