Monthill Golf & Country Clubhouse

[1]

Crozier & Associates engineering and design team completed the water resources, civil servicing, structural design, mechanical and electrical engineering design for the 57,000 sq. ft. facility in Caledonia. This state of the art clubhouse has a complex design consisting of two terraces, engineered steel trusses, 3 tiers of flat roofing, indoor gas golf cart storage, 4 Banquet Halls, Golf Simulators, a pro-shop, lounge, dining, and a Founder’s Club. The interior is being finished with large chandeliers and 4 chimneys reaching up to 50 feet tall. The kitchen layout was designed by a top Canadian Chef.

Coordination between the electrical, structural, and mechanical team was required to insure HVAC, water, sanitary, electrical conduits and steel did not conflict. The M&E conduits and ducts and structural columns were strategically placed as the architect would not allow for bump outs in the walls or ceilings. Precast concrete slabs were specified as main floor flooring to meet the challenges of long spans and low headroom requirements.

The building has huge power requirements, and the back-up generator was specified and designed so that all building services remain operable during a power outage. One cannot have a power outage during a wedding or banquet!
