Situated at Wellington Street East and Lorne Street downtown Alliston, Banting Square is a new condominium community in Alliston, Ontario. The architectural design by ISM Architects was inspired by heritage buildings in Alliston, which is reflected in the symmetry of the building design, the use red brick exterior, and gable ends. The development’s namesake pays homage to Sir Fredrick Banting, who was born and raised in the Alliston area.
The structural design for the two, four-storey, 56-unit buildings was completed by Crozier & Associates’ structural engineering team. The buildings were designed with sound attenuation mat and lightweight concrete floor topping which exceed building code requirements. Each of the 112 units in the development boast 8’6” ceilings and oversized balconies. As well, both buildings have underground parking and elevator service.
Crozier’s Construction team tendered and administrated the building contracts, and is overseeing the construction of the development from start to finish. Construction of the development started in 2017, with expect completion in 2018.
