Your Impact:

Crozier is looking for an experienced and highly skilled accounting professional to join our Finance team in our Collingwood office.

As an Assistant Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing financial activities of our organization, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. This role plays a crucial role in financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements.

If you have your Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation and experience leading a finance team, preferably in an engineering consulting or professional services environment, we’d love to hear from you.

How you will contribute to the team:

  • Oversee the full cycle of orders to cash and procure-to-pay processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Responsible for operational expenditures forecasting.
  • Oversee month-end close activities, including balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Monitor cash flow, prepare cash flow projections, and optimize working capital management.
  • Champion revenue recognition practices and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Implement digital transformation initiatives to streamline financial processes.
  • Drive database management and data integration efforts.
  • Develop and maintain accounts receivable reporting and aging analysis.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to the finance team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in accounting and financial management.


What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in financial management, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role considered an asset.
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation required.
  • Experience within engineering consulting or professional services industry considered an asset.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, revenue recognition, and financial reporting.
  • Familiarity with implementing digital transformation initiatives.
  • Experience in managing multiple systems and ensuring seamless data integration.
  • Strong proficiency in using financial software and database management tools.
  • Proven track record in driving process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Previous experience in team management and fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
