Raising the Lids Off Crozier Chili Crockpots

Crozier Milton staffers put on their best pots of chili in early March, in hopes of winning the title of Chili Cook Extraordinaire (with bragging rights of course). With 8 chilies entered, competition at the 1st Annual Chili Cook-off was fierce. Sampled and judged by other staff, chili entries varied from hot to sweet, simple to complex, but all shared one attribute …. they were all delicious!

Congratulations to the cook-off’s 1st place winner, Nuno Gama for best vegetarian and meat chili, and to runner up, Matthew Beghin, who won 2nd place for his turkey chili.

United Way CEO, Kate Holmes, pictured above with Matt Beghin and Nuno Gama, along with event organizer Nicole Sylvester, was present for the event. The $5 entry fee for each aspiring chili judge was matched by the company, and a total of $300 was raised for the United Way Milton. Expressing her gratitude to Crozier staff, Kate noted that this was her first chili cook-off … hopefully, of many such future events.

The United Way is trying to reach their annual$1 Million fundraising goal by the end of March. With the assistance and generosity of Milton community, the United Way is able to support 26 local agencies and organizations, giving 1 in 4 people access to these programs and helping the community thrive.

We’re already planning for next year’s Second Annual Chili Cook-off! Do you think you have what it takes to cook up a winning chili?
